Austin Grandstaff, a 2015 guard out of Texas, opted to end his recruitment early and commit to Oklahoma State.

Austin Grandstaff just felt it was right.

So after visiting Oklahoma State for the second time this weekend, Grandstaff, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Plano (Tex.) West, committed to Travis Ford and his staff.

“I’m really excited,” Grandstaff said. “It’s just the right fit for me honestly. I fell in love with it when I went down there.”

Grandstaff said Ford has been pursuing him since the eighth grade and the two have developed a strong relationship.

“Me and coach Ford are really close,” he said. “This was my second visit down there. “I got to know him really well. He's a players coach. He does all the individual workouts himself and prepares guys for the next level. He's just a great guy.”

Oklahoma State’s offense is also intriguing to Grandstaff, who is known for his ability to score.

“I like it a lot,” he said about the way Oklahoma State plays. “They shoot a lot of threes. They get out on the break a lot. You saw Phil Forte hit a lot of threes. I think I can thrive in that system.”

Grandstaff also cited the facilities when asked about his decision to pick Oklahoma State.

“They have the best facilities I've ever seen in my life,” he said. “They take care of their players. The gym is 24 hours. They have the nicest locker room in the country. It’s close to home. It’s only four hours away. My parents can see me anytime they want.”

Grandstaff is Oklahoma State’s first pledge in the 2015 class.
