Saintil makes late pledge

He contemplated going into the 2014 class, but Hakim Saintil stayed in 2013 and made his college choice.

At 5-foot-10 Hakim Saintil isn't the biggest point guard in the country, but he does have some skills. The Roselle (NJ) Catholic standout had a solid senior season, and now he is headed to South Alabama after issuing his commitment on Sunday morning.

This spring Saintil toyed with the idea of heading into the 2014 class and had a solid showing with Sports U on the AAU circuit, but at the end of the day he decided that starting his college career was the right direction to go in.

This is the second commitment for new South Alabama Head Coach Matthew Graves who set his sights on adding a point guard late and got one of the best available.

Saintil is someone who had a lot of mid-major interest and even some high-major interest, but at the end of the day it was South Alabama that put in the work and got the commitment. Recommended Stories
