It wasn't an easy process for La Porte (Ind) La Lumiere point guard Jalen James. The Chicago native committed to Illinois following his sophomore season, but then following a coaching changed his recruitment opened back up.
After the opening of his recruitment James started entertaining offers from mid and high-major programs. In the end the 6-foot-3 point guard decided to go to the best.
"Jalen James committed to San Jose State today," said La Lumiere assistant coach Shane Heirman.
San Jose State was very active recruiting James all season long, and that combined with the system being the right fit led to James making the pick and heading out West.
James is a three-star prospect and a point guard who is a solid decision maker as well as a good shooter.
