It’s not just the big-time schools snaring commitments these days. Some of the smaller programs have jumped on the commitment train and are starting to land targets. Take Fairleigh Dickison. The Knights recently landed a swingman from New York.

Timberlake Picks FDU

Tom Green, Fairleigh Dickinson’s all-time leader in wins, recently won a recruiting tussle. The Knights have a commitment from Brooklyn (NY) New Utrecht’s Chad Timberlake.

The 6-4, 185-pound Timberlake committed to Green last Friday night. He received recruiting interest from Wagner, Sacred Heart and Boston University before picking the Northeast Conference school.

“I think they are a program on the rise and I think it would be good for my future,” Timberlake said. He further added that the Knights coaching staff played a big part in his decision. Last year, Timberlake averaged 17 points a game. He toured in the summer with St. Michael’s AAU and also played in a few events with the Central Jersey Hawks.

Up Close With Timberlake

Toughest Summer Opponent: Randy Foye. “He’s a great offensive player.”

Would Like To Play A College Game Against: St. John’s.

Patterned His Game After: Kobe Bryant. “He’s a good person and is good off the court too.”
