"I was really disappointed," said LaVine. "I had a good relationship with him and his staff. They know my game and I was really looking forward to going in there and helping them. I wish them the best. It's tough because I want to stay at UCLA; I really didn't have a second choice in my recruitment. We'll just have to see what happens. I'll have to see who they hire."
When asked if there are any other schools he would consider other than UCLA, LaVine replied, "As of right now probably Washington," said LaVine. "I have a great relationship with Coach Romar and his staff."
We asked LaVine if he has any coaches in mind that he would like to see at UCLA.
"I only really know the coaches that recruited me," said LaVine. "I heard Coach Romar is on their list and I also have a really good relationship with Coach Few. Those coaches know my game and what I can do."
When asked how his parents feel about the development at UCLA, LaVine said, "They feel the same as me. They know I had a great relationship with the UCLA coaches. Coach Howland and the whole staff were great. Coach Garson is one of the nicest dudes I've met."
