2014 Intro: Ron Freeman

Ron Freeman

Ron Freeman is a sleeper wing out of Southern California. Here's an intro to his game and recruitment.

Gardena (Calif.) Serra has a handful of talented prospects that are getting a lot of recruiting attention, but hidden in that group is a sleeper prospect with upside.

Ron Freeman, a 6-foot-5, 170-pound 2014 wing, has a utility type role on Serra, using his length to rebound and defend and is a capable three-point shooter as well.

Freeman has grown two inches a year since his freshman season and has enjoyed being a do-it-all type guy for Serra.

"I just help my teammates out, let the game come to me and stay under control," Freeman said. "I do whatever it takes to help our team win."

In the future, Freeman has one area he's trying to get better at.

"I need to not take any plays off," he said.

Pepperdine, USC, Washington and Portland State have shown Freeman interest, but there's another school he enjoys watching.

"I like the University of Oregon," Freeman said. "They get out and go, just like us. They run their sets and get after it."
