Bearcats snag a big Prospect

The Cincinnati Bearcats have been scouring the country hard for a big man in the 2013 class, and on Tuesday they came through with one.

During his tenure as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats Mick Cronin has showed an ability and a desire to recruit players slightly off the radar. He did so and landed a gem in Jaquon Parker, and now he is hoping he did the same in the 2013 class.

Needing frontcourt help in a big way, Cronin landed the pledge of 6-foot-9 forward Jamaree Strickland. Strickland is a California native who now attends Charlotte (NC) Queen City Prep.

Strickland, who suffered a major knee injury as a sophomore, has been somewhat under the radar after changing coasts, but Cronin and his staff identified him as a recruit they really wanted.

By making the decision Strickland becomes the third commitment for the Bearcats in the 2013 class. He joins local product Kevin Johnson and Virginia native Troy Caupain.
