Woodson makes his pick

Dominic Woodson is headed to the Big 12. The Huntington (W.V.) Prep big man committed to Baylor Thursday morning.

Dominic Woodson's college choice is in.

After taking recent college visits to Baylor and North Carolina State, Woodson committed to Baylor to Scott Drew and Baylor on Thursday. He confirmed the news with Scout.com.

"Its close to home, a great academic school and has a great coaching staff," Woodon said. "And [there's] a chance to win a championship."

Huntington (W.V) Prep coach Rob Fulford said the talented big man, who grew up in Louisville (Ky.), but has lived in Texas recently, has shown improvement on and off the court since arriving at Huntington Prep.

"Dominic has made huge strides this year, not only on the court but from an attitude standpoint as well," Fulford told Scout.com. "This is great place for him to mature because he realizes we are going win with or without him."

"He is understanding what it takes to be a teammate and has huge upside," he added. "I'm proud of Dominic for continuing to push through what hasn't been a very easy life."

Woodson, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound post prospect, visited Baylor the weekend of the weekend of October 20th.

A four-star recruit and the No. 3 rated center, Woodson is a wide post player that is equipped with a great set of hands and nice touch around the basket. He's also a guy that likes to step away from the rim and shoot jump shots.

Baylor now has three recruits in their 2013 recruiting class. Woodson is their second top 50 recruit. He joins No. 50 Ishmail Wainright and three-star big man Jonathan Motley.

Woodson ranks No. 40 overall in the 2013 player rankings. With the Woodson commitment, Baylor moves up to No. 20 in the 2013 recruiting class rankings.
