Missouri was able to secure a fourth pledge in their 2013 class on Sunday.
La Porte (Ind.) La Lumiere power forward Torren Jones
obviously has no issue being away from home. Originally from the state of Arizona, Jones is attending high school a long way from his native area, and now he will be doing the same for college.
Things are going well for the Missouri Tigers on the recruiting trail. They have now landed four recruits, the most recent being the 6-foot-9 and 225 pound Jones.
"Yes I have committed to Mizzou," said Jones via text message.
Jones is a combination of size, strength, and athleticism that isn't seen very much in the high school game. While he is still a work in progress on the offensive end, Jones can rebound and should be a good defender going forward.
At the end of the day Jones' decision came down to Missouri and DePaul with other schools such as Washington State also in the mix, but the visit to the SEC school sealed the deal.
"It was a great visit," said Jones. "I had a lot of fun and thought I really connected well with the guys and the coaching staff. It is a great campus and I can really see myself there."
This is the fourth commitment for the Tigers. Jones joins fellow three-star prospect Travis Jorgenson and a pair of four-star players in Johnathan Williams and Wes Clark in talented class.
