Johnson ready to announce
On Thursday, Jajuan Johnson, a four-star recruit out of Memphis (Tenn.) Southwind, watched his high school teammate Johnathan Williams announce his college decision. Now it's almost Johnson's turn. Scout.com's No. 32 prospect is down to Alabama, Marquette and Miami. He'll announce his college choice on November 2nd at his high school. "I'm ready to get it over with," Johnson told Scout.com as he was leaving Williams' announcement. This past weekend Johnson traveled to Milwaukee (Wisc.) to officially visit Marquette. He said they pitched him on their potential and incoming 2013 recruiting class. "It was cool," Johnson said of the Marquette trip. "I was down there with the recruits they already have down there. They were telling me about the class we could have if I come and stuff." "It was a basketball town," he added. "Everything was about basketball." Johnson also previously took official visits to Alabama and Miami. He liked each for different reasons. With Alabama it was the team that impressed him when he was on campus. "They were cool," he said of the players at Alabama. "They were guys just like me and it was a good college atmosphere." At Miami, it's the chance to play early that left a lasting impression. "The city is nice," he said of Miami. "There's a lot of stuff. They have six seniors leaving so I would have immediate playing time." The 6-foot-5, 180-pound wing is regarded as the No. 8 shooting guard in the 2013 class.
