Ikenna Iroegbu, a California native, made his college choice on Monday. After completing his last year of high school at Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill, Iroegbu will head back west for college.

Ikenna Iroegbu found his college home.

Iroegbu committed to Washington State on Monday, according to Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill coach Steve Smith.

"He visited Virginia Tech last weekend and then Washington State this weekend," Smith said. "He came in this morning and said he wanted to go to Washington State."

"We talked to coach [Ken] Bone about an hour ago and he committed to them," Smith added.

Both Smith and Iroegbu's travel team coach Dinos Trigonis raved about Iroegbu's improvement over the last year.

"I'd say he's a point," Smith said. "What I like about him is he can play two positions and he can guard two positions. He's best in transition. You know how athletic he is. He's a freak athletic."

"I think he's one of the most improved players in the country," Trigonis told "He became a much better decision maker. He still has a ways to go, but he became a much more of a complete guard. He learned how to use to his physical tools."

Iroegbu, a three-stare prospect, is Washington State's first pledge in the 2013 class.
