Jackson down to two, decision set

Five-star point guard Demetrius Jackson will make his decision this week.

The recruitment of Demetrius Jackson will come to an end this week. The five-star point guard from Mishawaka (Ind.) Marian has decided to narrow his list down to two and will make the choice on Thursday.

"He is set to decide on Thursday on TV," said MBA Select AAU Coach Rod Creech.

"He will decide between Illinois and Notre Dame, and honestly I don't even know where he is going," said Creech. "Demetrius hasn't told me anything about, but I know he is ready to decide."

Jackson made an official visit to Illinois at the end of August, and then this past weekend made his trip to Notre Dame.

He lives only about 15 minutes from the Notre Dame campus, and the Irish have been recruiting him for a long time. The Illini have made Jackson one of their top targets since the day John Groce and his staff took over.

The decision was planned for the last week to take place after the Notre Dame visit, and now it is set in stone.
