Worthington goes with BYU

Recently Luke Worthington cut his list of schools to five, now the three-star prospect out of Wisconsin is on the board with a commitment. He'll play for BYU.

Luke Worthington settled on BYU Monday morning.

Worthington, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound post prospect, also strongly considered interest from Butler, Penn, Davidson and Princeton. He confirmed the news to Scout.com.

"Everything just felt right," Worthington said. "I got to know the coaching staff incredibly well and was really comfortable with them. When I looked at everything BYU had to offer, I knew that was the place I wanted to go."

Worthington, a standout at Homestead (Wisc.) High, also cited the relationship he's built with their coaching staff as one of the reasons he opted to play for the Cougars.

"I built a really strong relationship with the staff out at BYU," he said. "I would definitely say that played a huge role in my decision."

A three-star prospect, Worthington is BYU's fifth verbal pledge in the 2013 class. He joins four-star recruits Eric Mika and Nick Emergy, as well as Braiden Shaw and Jakob Hartsock to make up their 2013 recruiting class.
