As it turns out, Jersey City (NJ) St. Anthony’s product Josh Brown just wanted to be sure. Originally Brown committed to Temple and Head Coach Fran Dunphy only to re-open his recruitment before the July evaluation period. Now once again he is back in the nest.
Making a live announcement on SNY, Brown said “I’ll be a Temple Owl.”
With that the recruitment of a talented and tough combo guard came to an end, again. Brown decided to honor his mother by attending the school. He picked Temple the second time over interest from Rhode Island, Providence, and Penn State.
At 6-foot-3 Brown can do a lot of things on the basketball court. He is a quality ball handler who can play the point, but has the ability to do damage off the ball as well where he can look to score by going to the rim. Defensively he is excellent and has the versatility to guard multiple positions at a high level.
Coach by Bob Hurly at St. Anthony’s, Brown has made big strides in his game over the last year and was instrumental in leading Sports U to an excellent July on the AAU circuit. This is a big pledge for Temple who is now making the move from the Atlantic 10 to the Big East.
