Memphis has landed its King.
During a press conference at Memphis (Tenn.) East, five-star prospect Nick King announced his intentions to play his college basketball for his hometown school.
King, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward, picked Josh Pastner and Memphis over heavy interest from Texas, Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
King averaged 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a junior.
King, who ran with the Bluff City Legends on the travel team circuit, is ranked No. 18 overall in the 2013 class.
With the King commitment, Memphis now has two local standouts in their 2013 recruiting class. King joins No. 29 shooting guard Markel Crawford, of Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose, to make up their current class.
