Schuyler Rimmer will be apart of the Florida Gators basketball team.
Rimmer, a 6-foot-10, 230-pound center, committed to Billy Donovan and his staff Sunday afternoon. He confirmed the news to Scout.com.
"I picked UF because their plan for my development and my future was something I was comfortable with," Rimmer said. "And having the opportunity to play for my dream school is something I couldn't pass up.
Rimmer had plenty of options. To go with a recent trip to Florida, Rimmer took unofficial visits to Virginia, Central Florida, Penn State and Clemson. Marquette, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, USC, Harvard and Miami were also involved.
Rimmer, a standout at Orlando (Fla.) Boone, also cited his relationship with Billy Donovan as one of the reasons he went with the Gators.
"My relationship with coach Donovan played a huge role in my decision," Rimmer said. "I feel a huge level of trust with him as well as his coaching staff."
Florida now has three commitments in their 2013 recruiting class. Rimmer joins a pair of top 10 recruits in Kasey Hill and Chris Walker.
