2013 Intro: Leonard Allen

Leonard Allen

Leonard Allen, an emerging Texas center in 2013, discusses his recruiting process with Scout.com.

A sleeper center in 2013 comes from Round Rock (Texas) in 6-foot-11, 200-pound Leonard Allen.

Scout.com watched Allen at the Oakland EYBL session and put together the following evaluation after one of his games:

It's tough for Allen to be too productive considering his severe need for strength, but the lanky center had a nice touch around the basket when he had a clean look. He gives good effort and doesn't try to anything he can't yet. He contributed 8 points against Louisiana Select.

Allen said he's mostly heard from schools in Texas and California, and that he's looking for a school that has his major.

"I'm looking for the best education," Allen said. "I'd like to major in Computer Science."

The rising senior mentioned Stanford, Texas A&M and U.C. Davis as schools he's intrigued by their Computer Science program, and has heard from the latter two programs.

As a player, Allen says he's defense oriented right now.

"I play defense; I'm a good defensive player," he said. "I'm working on getting stronger."

As of now, Allen is in no rush to make a decision.

"I want to take my time before doing anything," he said.
