An athletic scorer at the wing position, Robbins will be capable of playing both the two and three in Corvallis and while he has struggled with consistency, when Robbins gets going he's capable of putting up big numbers.
Robbins is on an official visit to Oregon State and while in town, decided it was the right place for him.
"They've been on me the whole time and others were behind me but not as much as Oregon State," Robbins said. "I also really like the coaches and players; it seems like a good place to be."
The relationship Robbins formed with the Oregon State coaches played a role in his decision, he said.
"The coaches are great," said Robbins. "I know I can talk to them more than as coaches but also as friends. I don't have to worry about what they have to say back; I know I can have a good relationship with them.
"Coach (David) Grace was my lead recruiter. I liked how he was truthful with me the whole time. I knew of him from my travel team, the Compton Magic."
Robbins plans on stepping in and making a quick impact next season.
"I think I can come in and make an immediate impact," he said. "They just lost their best player and I know I can come in whether it's rebounding, passing or whatever, I can make an impact as soon as I come in."
