Ojeleye enjoys visits
Right now things are going very well for Ottawa (Kan.) High School small forward Semi Ojeleye. The 6-foot-6 forward has his team playing excellent basketball, and he has had a chance to make some recent unofficial visits. "We are headed to state on Thursday, so we are real excited about that," said Ojeleye of his season. "It is something we played for all year, so all the hard work is paying off. Still the season isn't all the way over yet. We still have work to do and want to make a run in state." When it comes to recruiting, numerous schools continue to show Ojeleye significant attention. "I have been hearing from Kansas, Kansas State, UCLA has been active, Wisconsin, I took a visit to Oregon, Oregon State, Nebraska, Butler has been calling, and Missouri as well," said Ojeleye. One of the most recent visits that Ojeleye took was to Kansas for their game against the Missouri Tigers. "It was crazy," said Ojeleye of the game. "It was one of the best games I have been to. The environment was incredible. It would definitely be a great place to play with how loud it was. Overall the visit was a great experience." Ojeleye said that recently that Kansas has picked up their interest in him. "They just started recruiting me," said Ojeleye. "Coach (Bill) Self called a couple of weeks ago and said he was keeping track of how I was playing and they look forward to building a relationship with me." The other instate program, Kansas State, is also one that has been recruiting Ojeleye hard. His older brother is currently a part of the Wildcats program. "Obviously I am close with them because my brother has been there for four years," said Ojeleye of Kansas State. "I have seen them up close and that gave them an advantage at the beginning, but as of right now I am going to see where I am best fit." Outside of Kansas, he also took a recent visit to Oregon to check out the Ducks program. "The weather was nice," said Ojeleye of Oregon. "They have brand new facilities and it is definitely the type of place that will be attractive to recruits." Currently Ojeleye is the No. 49 ranked player in the nation.
