Re-Classed Fincher getting more attention

With his athleticism and developing skills, Neville Fincher could be one to watch in the 2013 class.

He's roughly 6-foot-8, he's athletic, and now he is a member of the 2013 class. Teaneck (NJ) High School power forward Neville Fincher is in the midst of an excellent senior season, and with a post grad year coming up, colleges are beginning to really take notice.

At the Hoop Group Tip Off Fincher showed the improvement his game has made since the summer. Playing on his high school team, Fincher looks more aggressive and even more athletic than he was playing with the New Jersey Playaz in July.

"I have been trying to rebound as much as I can, and when I get the ball down low I either go hard to the basket or to the foul line," said Fincher of his play.

Recruiting wise things are just beginning to pick up for Fincher. He was getting mostly mid-level interest before the year, but now schools from all levels are starting to call.

"Hofstra, Binghamton, Temple, Towson, Rutgers, and Seton Hall have been the schools contacting me the most," Fincher noted.

One reason why the recruiting is picking up is because Fincher has decided he will come out as a part of the 2013 class. He says the decision will prove to be a very beneficial one.

"I just feel it was the best decision," Fincher explained. "My parents and I decided it was needed. I didn't take school as serious as I should have as a freshman and sophomore, so for me to qualify and go on to the next level this was the best decision for me."

While he is just now looking seriously into the recruiting process, Fincher does have a few things in mind in terms of what he will be looking for in a school when the time comes for him to make a decision down the road.

"I am looking for a good academic school," said Fincher. "I definitely want to get my degree. Also I want to go to a program where I would be a vital part to the team."

With his move to 2013 seemingly complete, look for the recruitment and interest in Fincher to pick up assuming he continues with his strong play this season. Recommended Stories
