Randolph holding SDSU offer
One of the better point guards out west in 2013 is 6-foot-1, 190-pound Eureka (Calif.) St. Bernard's Brandon Randolph. Randolph has long been considered a score-first point guard, but he says he wants to be viewed differently. "My game is coming around," Randolph said. "I got a lot better on the defensive end. I'm rebounding, passing and I feel like I'm underrated at that. I want to show everybody that I can dish it off. "People have said that I shoot too much, I score too much and that I'm not a true point guard, but I want to prove everybody differently." After getting a lot of early interest, one school felt confident enough in Randolph's game to offer him a scholarship. "San Diego State was my first offer," Randolph said. "It was great; I didn't know that they were going to offer. I was surprised but I'm definitely glad. It's very cool and I like the school. The coaches seem cool." St. Bernard will spend over half a week in the San Diego area at the end of December, and Randolph hopes to be able to visit the Aztecs at that time. "I haven't been to the school yet but hopefully when I'm in San Diego for the Torrey Pines tournament I'll be able to catch one of their games," he said. Randolph plans on taking his time and isn't in any rush to name leaders or make a decision. "They're one of my favorites, especially since they were the first to offer, but I'm open to everybody," he said. "I don't want to commit too early; I want to take my time."
