Goodwin goes with Memphis

Shaq Goodwin made a surprise announcement on Tuesday. The five-star prospect is headed to Memphis.

Josh Pastner just picked up his second top 100 prospect in the 2012 class.

William Goodwin, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound bouncy forward, announced for Memphis via Twitter. Both Goodwin and his high school coach Dewayne McKinney confirmed the commitment to Scout.com.

"Yes," he responded when asked by text message if Goodwin had committed.

"I have," Goodwin texted to Scout.com.

Goodwin, who is also known as Shaq, also took an official visit to UCLA and considered Georgia and Florida.

The Decatur (Ga.) Southwest Dekalb standout is ranked No. 24 overall in the 2012 recruiting class.

Goodwin played AAU basketball with the Atlanta Celtics, which is the same program Tiger commit Damien Wilson hails from.
