Johnson announces choice

There's another 2012 prospect off the board. Brice Johnson made his college decision Wednesday morning.

Brice Johnson held the the suspense until 9:00 a.m.

Then the 6-foot-9, 195-pound power forward out of Cordova (S.C.) Edisto announced his college choice via Twitter.

"I will be a UNC Tar Heel," Johnson tweeted.

North Carolina now has four commitments in the 2012 class. Johnson joins three four-star prospects in Marcus Paige, Joel James and J.P. Tokoto.

Johnson also strongly considering Florida and North Carolina State. He took official visits to both schools.

During the summer Johnson improved his play and really drew the eye of college coaches in July at the Nike Peach Jam. Johnson is a bouncy forward that blocks shots, runs the floor and can step out and shoot mid-range jump shots.

Johnson finished the summer regarded as a four-star prospect and ranked No. 46 overall in the 2012 recruiting class. Recommended Stories
