Chris Fields, 6-6 JR SF Long Beach (Calif.) Poly, is a very good athlete who is probably a consistent jump shot away from being one of the top three men in the west. We spoke with Fields last night and he told us that he's currently interested in Colorado St., UC Irvine and Long Beach St., among others. Long Beach St. came out to Poly during the recent contact period. Fields said he'd actually like to go away from home for college if possible. He said he doesn't plan on making an early decision and may wait until next April before choosing a school. He said his GPA is currently 2.7 and he's taking an SAT preparation course. He'll take the test in June.
