Archie Goodwin is Kentucky’s first 2012 verbal commitment.
Goodwin, a five-star guard, had narrowed his list to Kentucky, Arkansas and Memphis. Then late Tuesday night Goodwin made his decision public.
"Kentucky just fit me as a basketball player and as a person," Goodwin told Scout.com late Tuesday night. "I feel like I'm apart of another family."
Goodwin commits just a few weeks before Kentucky’s midnight madness festivities where they are expected to have a number of five-star prospects on campus including Shabazz Muhammad, Dajuan Coleman, Alex Poythress and T.J. Warren.
Goodwin is currently ranked as the No. 3 shooting guard and the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2012 class.
As a junior, Goodwin averaged just over 28 points, seven rebounds and three steals a game.
