Houston lands key pledges

The Houston Cougars landed two huge pledges that will certainly make an impact in Conference USA.

The Houston Cougars scored potential program changing commitments on Sunday when both Danuel House and Danrad Knowles committed to the Conference USA school. The duo from Houston are both four star prospects, and both had excellent summers.

"Danuel House and Chicken Knowles have just chosen Head Coach James Dickey and the University of Houston as their college choice," said Texas PRO AAU Coach Marland Lowe.

House is ranked as the No. 27 prospect in the nation while Knowles checks in at No. 71. Both ran with Texas PRO this summer emerging in a talented class to explode onto the scene during the month of July.

At 6-foot-6, House has big time athleticism and the ability to make shots from deep. His development with his ball handling proved to make him one of the premier prospects in the nation. Overall he was excellent at the LeBron James Skills Academy and also was instrumental in Texas PRO's long run at the Chicago Best Buy event over Memorial Day weekend.

Knowles is a skinny combo forward who is probably at his best as a pick and pop power forward. Though given his athleticism and ability to shoot the ball there is a chance that he could play on the wing some as well.

Overall these two put Houston on the map and give the Cougars an early start on a very impressive recruiting class.
