Over the past few weeks it was clear that Terry Rozier, a standout at Shaker Heights (Ohio) High, was a favoring the Louisville Cardinals.
On Sunday, just a day after Rick Pitino watched him in an open gym, Rozier gave the Cards a verbal commitment.
“My heart and gut said it was the right place,” Rozier told Scout.com.
"I talked to them and it's something that I wanted to do," he added.
Louisville began recruiting Rozier, a 6-foot-1 guard, shortly after the LeBron James Skills Academy and they trailed him throughout the July evaluation periods.
Rozier also considered Cincinnati, Illinois, Cleveland State, West Virginia and a handful of other high major programs.
In the end, Rozier said he liked the entire situation at Louisville.
"I like how they play," Rozier said. "I like their style of play. Coach Pitino is someone I want to be coached by. He's a hall of fame coach."
Rozier is Louisville's first commitment of the 2012 recruiting class.
