Pat Chambers and Penn State are on the board in the 2012 class. Akosa Maduegbunam made gave the Nittany Lions a verbal pledge on Tuesday.

It didn't take Pat Chambers long to hit the recruiting trial.

The newly anointed head coach at Penn State received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-3, 185-pound wing Akosa Maduegbunam. The Boston Globe confirmed the news.

"He’s a very good shooting guard who can play defense and rebound," Charlestown coach Edson Cardoso told Bob Hohler, of the paper. "His long arms and quickness allows him to stop guys that come in the paint."

Maduegbunam played his sophomore season at Ashburnham (Mass.) Cushing Academy. Then he averaged 22.3 points a game at Charleston (Mass.) High as a junior. He will finish his high school career at Winchendon (Mass.) Academy.

Maduegbunam plays on the circuit with the Expressions travel team.
