Marqueze Coleman, a talented senior shooting guard from Southern California, has a variety of schools expressing interest in him...

Marqueze Coleman, 6-3 SR SG Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany, is one of the better shooting guard prospects in the west for 2012. A good athlete with a solid body, Coleman has improved significantly in the last year.

I spoke with Coleman recently and asked him about the schools that have been in contact with him.

"I'm hearing from Tennessee, Colorado, Baylor, North Carolina State, Washington State, Stanford, UNLV and Portland," said Coleman.

Coleman said he just returned from an unofficial visit.

"I was at Portland last weekend for a visit," said Coleman. "They have a nice campus there and I like the staff a lot."

I asked Coleman if any school stands out for him at the moment.

"Tennessee has been calling a lot and I like them," said Coleman.

I asked Coleman if he has any schools in mind that he's sure he'd like to visit.

"I definitely want to visit Tennessee and Baylor," said Coleman.

When questioned about the factors that will influence his decision, Coleman replied, "The environment at the school and the education are important. The location isn't a big deal, but early playing time does matter."

Coleman said he hopes to make his decision sometime after the summer and said he will sign in the early signing period. He said he has a 3.4 GPA.
