Nkereuwem Okoro finally made it official.
For months Okoro has been thought of as a Iowa State lean. On Monday, Okoro made the call. Bronx (N.Y.) St. Raymond coach Oliver Antigua confirmed the news.
"It's true," Antigua said. "Kerwin committed last night to Iowa State."
"They put the most work in," Antigua added. "They've been recruiting him the longest. They showed the most effort watching him during the high school season and in open gym."
Okoro, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound wing prospect, entertained plenty of interest and had scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Seton Hall and Dayton.
"He was looking to go away and get out of the city and look for a new experience in college," Antigua said. "He was felt real comfortable with coach Hoiberg. He did a great job out working the other guys."
The Cyclones are off to a quick start with their 2012 recruiting class. Okoro joins undersized, but active post man George Niang to make up their current 2012 class.
Okoro averaged 13.6 points per game for the Ravens.
