Kingwood Coverage Coming Up!

Posted Apr 24, 2003

The Kingwood Classic is set to Friday night in Houston. The event appears to be absolutely loaded.

2003 Kingwood Should Be Outstanding

Tournament director Hal Pastner has his hands full this weekend. Pastner is proud of the fact that his event will showcase players in 9 different age brackets.

Last year’s event was the so-called coming out party for one Vakeaton Wafer. The Louisiana native took the event by storm when he started hanging up 30-point efforts on each team he played against. Will there be another breakout performer this year? Could be.

Regardless of whether or not anyone experiences the kind of rise Wafer did, Pastner will be proud of the matchups his tournament will have come playoff time.

“The games Saturday and Sunday in the 15s, 16s and 17s are unbelievable. I’ve been doing this 20 years and this blows my mind.”

The Kingwood Classic is a must-stop for nearly every major college program. This weekend is the final time colleges will be able to evaluate players until the July summer recruiting period.
