Rodney Purvis opened up his recruitment on Monday and also released a short list of schools he plans to consider.

Rodney Purvis is back on the market.

With the departure of Tim Fuller from Louisville's staff, many believed Purvis would opt to look around. On Monday that belief came to fruition.

"Yes," Purvis responded via text message when asked if he decommitted.

"I just want to develop a relationship with the new staff," he added. "Louisville isn't out or nothing like that."

Purvis, a five-star prospect in the 2012 class, said he already has a short list of schools he plans to look at. He listed Louisville, as well as North Carolina State, Duke and Kentucky.

A standout at Raleigh (N.C.) Upper Room Christian, Purvis is ranked No. 8 overall in the 2012 class.
