Williams-Goss going through process again
After UNLV hired BYU assistant and former Rebel Dave Rice, Williams-Goss decided to open things up.
"My dad talked to coach Rice and they kind of expected it because we had no relationship with the new coach," Williams-Goss said. "It was kind of expected by everyone."
Since decommitting, Williams-Goss has heard from UNLV, Oklahoma, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, USC, Washington, Washington State, Arizona and some schools in the Big 12.
With his recruitment starting all over again, he's keeping an open mind about everyone and plans on taking things slow this time around.
"I'm kind of wide open right now; I'm just taking it all in," Williams-Goss said. "I'm going to just keep working on my game and when the recruiting period is here in July, we'll see who shows interest."
When Williams-Goss does get serious about his recruitment again, he'll be looking for a couple qualities in a program.
"Style of play and whatever coaching staff I feel most comfortable with," he said.
As a player, Williams-Goss has done a good job gaining strength since last summer and he's become more aggressive as a scorer, taking the ball to the hoop much more than he did a year ago.
"I feel like I've improved a lot," Williams-Goss said. "I'm a lot stronger and a lot more poised when I'm out there. My defense and all-around game have gotten a lot better since last year."
In order to get to the next level as player, Williams-Goss has one area he's really trying to get better at.
"I need to keep working on my jump shot," he said. "The point guard position is hard to guard if you're a really good shooter."
