Notre Dame and Iowa picked up solid late pledges on Tuesday when the Sunrise duo of Eric Katenda and Gabe Olaseni came off the board.
Two of the better remaining prospects in the nation came off the board on Tuesday. Witchita (KS) Sunrise Academy products Eric Katenda
and Gabe Olaseni
made their commitments to a pair of Midwest schools.
Katenda made the decision to pick Notre Dame over Wake Forest. At 6-foot-8 and 210 pounds, Katenda has the ability to score inside and out, and was on pace for an excellent summer before suffering an injury.
Olaseni is a 6-foot-9 and 220 pound developing shot blocker who selected Iowa over Oklahoma.
Sunrise Academy head coach Kyle Lindsted confirmed the commitments via text message saying "Yes sir they both committed."
Katenda becomes the second commitment for the Fighting Irish joining Patrick Connaughton, a four star prospect.
Olaseni is the fourth commitment for Iowa joining Anthony Hubbard from the junior college ranks as well as three-star prospects Aaron White and Josh Oglesby.
