Duke's scored their second verbal commitment for the 2012 class on Thursday.
Just a few days after Top 15 recruit Alex Murphy opted for Duke, Rasheed Sulaimon, a five-star shooting guard, gave the Blue Devils a verbal commitment.
Sulaimon confirmed the news to Scout.com, as did his AAU coach Marland Lowe.
"He's been leaning towards Duke for a long time," Lowe told Scout.com. "He loves the academics and his family loves. It has a great history and basketball perspective."
Although Sulaimon, a standout at Houston (Tex.) Strake Jesuit, had plenty of high major suitors he had been favoring the Duke Blue Devils for quite some time.
"Texas and Baylor were in there, but Duke was way out in front," Lowe added.
Sulaimon is ranked No. 19 overall in the class of 2012. With the addition of Sulaimon, Duke now has a pair of five-star prospects.
