Ogbueze Works To Get Healthy

Braxton Ogbueze is working to get healthy after suffering an injury to his wrist. The top 10 lead guard in the junior class updated his recent play and recruitment with Scout.com.

Despite being bothered with a fracture in his wrist for much of his junior season, Braxton Ogbueze is having a strong season for Charlotte (N.C.) United Faith Christian and is on the verge of being healthy.

"I think I've been playing good as I continue to get more healthy and get over the fracture in my wrist," Ogbueze told Scout.com. "I've been rehabbing, but I think I've been playing pretty good."

"It's still not 100-percent," he added. "But I can tell it's getting better and getting stronger."

Although some have questioned whether Ogbueze is a true lead guard, the 6-foot, 165-pounder said he sees creating as one of his best attributes.

"I think I'm a really good creator for my teammates, but I can also score the ball," Ogbueze said. "I can put up points, but I can also get my teammates involved."

"I definitely want to be a point guard," he added. "I think I'm a point guard now, but there is always room for improvement to get better as a point guard. I think as I keep on playing I can keep getting, but I think my true position is point guard."

Ogbueze, who is currently ranked No. 6 at the lead guard position, claims scholarship offers from Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Baylor, Florida, Miami, Virginia, Wake Forest and Tennessee.

"I'm starting to think about it a little more, but it's still kind of early," Ogbueze said about the recruiting process. "It's going to be a little while longer until I'm down to make a decision."

To date, Ogbueze, a four-star prospect, has taken unofficial visits to Wake Forest, Virginia and Tennessee. He admitted that there were a handful of other schools he wants to visit.

"I definitely want to visit Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas," Ogbueze said.

Ogbueze is ranked No. 41 overall in the 2012 class.
