Tobey Picks ACC School

Mike Tobey's decision is in. The 2012 big man will take his game to the ACC.

Virginia has their first commitment of 2012.

Mike Tobey, a 6-foot-11 center out of Lakeville (Conn.) Hotchkiss, gave a verbal commitment to Tony Bennett and his program Monday morning.

Tobey's father, Ken, confirmed the news to Scout.com.

"Yes it is true," he said.

"The coach, business school and playing in the ACC," he added when asked why his son picked the Cavaliers.

In mid-December Tobey listed Maryland, Boston College, Boston University, Rider, Notre Dame, Fairfield, and Stanford as some of the schools that were at the top of his list.

He also listed offers from Miami, Siena, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, and Xavier.

Tobey played with the NY Gauchos during AAU season.
