The recent run of success on the recruiting trail for the Indiana Hoosiers has been missing one thing, a point guard. Well the run continued, and no longer is a floor general the missing piece. On Wednesday night the Indiana Hoosiers got their man in Kevin Ferrell.
It is tough to be going much better than the Indiana Hoosiers are on the recruiting trail right now. Only days after landing a pair of quality 2013 commitments, Coach Tom Crean and company landed a huge piece to their 2012 recruiting class with Ferrell.
Ferrell announced his commitment to the Hoosiers on Wednesday night before his Indianapolis (IN) Park Tudor team opened up their season. The announcement was made by Ferrell, and confirmed via text message by Indiana Elite AAU Coach Mike Fox who was in attendance.
"Yogi Ferrell committed to Indiana," Fox told Scout.com.
The Hoosiers landed the commitment from Ferrell in a hard fought recruiting battle over Notre Dame, Florida, Wake Forest, Butler, and Virginia.
By landing Ferrell, the Hoosiers now have an impressive four man class in 2012. Ferrell joins wing Ron Patterson, power forward Hanner Perea, and shot blocking center Peter Jurkin.
Now that Ferrell is in the class, the Hoosiers have the point guard that they needed so badly, and will focus on potentially adding one more player to the class before it is all said and done.
