Just a day after a relatively uneventful start to the fall signing period Zeller, a 6-foot-9 power forward, announced his decision at a much anticipated announcement at Washington (Ind.) High.
Zeller, Scout.com's No. 16 prospect, opted to stay home and play for Tom Crean and Indiana.Zeller What was Cream's reaction when he heard the news?
"He was pretty happy to say the least," Zeller said at the press conference.
So why Indiana?
"The players and the coaches were the biggest things," he said. "I think I can get along with the players pretty well and coach Crean seems to be rebuilding the school pretty well, but also the business school is ranked real high."
With Zeller on board, Indiana's two-man recruiting class, that also consists of AAU teammate and four-star prospect Austin Etherington, ranks No. 17 nationally.
"Growing up in the state I think it‘ll mean a lot to play in the state and represent the state," Zeller said. "I think we'll have a good team."
As a junior, Zeller, who ranks as the No. 4 power forward in the 2011 class, led Washington a to state title and averaged 20.5 points and just over 11 rebounds per game.
