Barry Larkin isn't the only quality athlete in his family.
The former Major League Baseball All-Star and Cincinnati Red produced a son -- Shane Larkin -- that turned into quite a basketball player. Early Wednesday morning the 5-foot-11 senior guard made his college choice.
Florida Assault coach Diane Neal confirmed that Larkin committed to DePaul.
"Shane like the school, coaches and players and they recruiting him the longest and hardest, she said. "He also liked his visit the most of them all."
Larkin joins Richton Park (Ill.) Rich South product Macari Brooks and Crete (Ill.) Monee standout Jamie Crockett to make up their current 2011 recruiting class.
A three-star prospect our of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Philips, Larkin is currently rated as the No. 20 lead guard.
