Markus Crider found his fit on Tuesday.
According to Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne head coach Travis Trice the 6-foot-6 forward will play his college ball in the Big East.
"He is a perfect fit for Providence’s pressure defense and fast breaking system,” Trice said.
Crider, who averaged 15.2 points and 8.3 rebounds as a junior, said the coaching staff played a major role in his recruitment.
"I really like the coaches and the players are great," Crider said. "Coach Keno Davis has done a good job of recruiting a good group of guys. The facilities at Providence are great to say the least; some of the best that I have ever seen.
"I really liked the campus and the city, it’s a gorgeous area. The Dunkin' Donuts Center seems like a place where opponents would hate to play and the Friars have great fan support on campus, in the city and throughout the state of Rhode Island."
Crider is the second player from Wayne to commit to a high major program. Travis Trice Jr. will head to Michigan State.
