Seth Greenberg got his man.
The Virginia Tech head coach made it clear on the summer circuit that Dorian Finney-Smith was his top priority. Following him gym to gym, Greenberg went all out for the 6-foot-7 wing prospect.
The time and effort paid off on Tuesday when Finney-Smith gave a verbal pledge to Virginia Tech, according to a source close to the situation.
A four-star prospect that ranks among the nation's top 30, Finney-Smith picked the Hokies after taking official visits to Florida and Old Dominion.
During his junior season, Finney-Smith led Portsmouth (Va.) I.C. Norcom to a 3A state title, while averaging nearly 20 points and 13 rebounds per outing.
Finney-Smith is the fourth 2011 verbal commitment for Greenberg. He joins a pair of four-star prospects -- Marquis Rankin and C.J. Barksdale -- as well as three-star standout Robert Brown.
