Spring Fling Set For Final Four Weekend
Pretty soon the spring AAU season will be in full swing. Once the Final Four comes and goes, it’ll be time for the Class of 2004 and beyond to take center stage. The unofficial kickoff of the spring season takes place Final Four weekend in on the campus of Fairleigh Dickinson.
Playaz Basketball Club maven Jim Salmon presents the Spring Fling. A light schedule of local traveling team games begins April 1. Then, starting April 4th, the meat of the tournament kicks into high gear.
Salmon has invited a good share of heavy hitters. In addition to his always loaded Playaz teams, committed programs include: DC Blue Devils, Riverside Church, Bronx Ravens, Jersey Shore Warriors, Albany City Rocks, Long Island Panthers, New York Gauchos, New York Elite and Cecil Kirk to name a few.
Salmon also has a 16 and under bracket and 15 and under bracket. We won’t be able to cover the event but hope to have a recap. Our aggressive spring coverage kicks off with the Boo Williams event the following weekend and then we’re in Houston the final two weekends of the month for major tournaments like the adidas Texas Challenge and Houston Kingwood Classic.
